• My first night in Italy (on this trip), we went to the city of Bergamo. The city is located on the Pre-Alps, the foothills of the Alps. We spent the evening touring the Cittą Alta, or Upper City, the historic center of Bergamo. Unfortunately, the weather did not permit taking any pictures. This is one of the only pictures I managed to take of the Cittą Bassa, or Lower City. (Bergamo, 13 June 2007)
